Checklist of California requirements as to content and appearance of deeds:


• Requested by and where to mail the original deed must appear in the upper left hand corner.
• Upper right 2.5 inches to remain blank for recorder's use.
• Transfer tax statements must appear on deed if tax is applicable.
• Directions as to where to mail tax statements must appear at the bottom of the first page.
• The type of deed indicated in the title is desired.
• Pages should be numbered, preferably Page __ of ___.
• Names and descriptions of persons and property adequate to identify same.
• Dated and signed by grantor of interest.
• Signature properly acknowledged.
